Graphic Design

I have 19 years experience doing graphic design at the Charlotte Business Journal. I do everything from page layout, ad design, map and chart design to photography and photo color correction. I have overseen two redesigns, and I am in charge of Macintosh computer maintenance.

I have been called a Quark God by the experts and I believe the same could be said for InDesign. I am also have a black belt in Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Freehand and Word.

Book Production

Do you have the Great American Novel locked up inside you and just bursting to get out? Will your ideas help change the way people think or act? Do you want to write the next book on the New York Times bestseller list?

I can help give form to your words and put them in an attractive package that will practically make them jump off the shelf and into readers' hands.

I do everything from choosing the right font and color theme for your subject matter to designing the cover, doing illustrations and photography and charts and maps.

I have extensive experience in producing best-selling books from front to back.

I have produced six books for sales consultant Jeffrey Gitomer including the Little Red Book of Selling, Little Red Book of Sales Answers, Little Black Book of Connections, The Sales Bible, The Patterson Principles of Selling and Wrestling With Success.

Another example is Rob Slee's "Midas Managers," a 288-page hardcover book published in 2007. I designed the cover and drew 13 cartoons as well as producing collateral material.

Slee is currently writing a follow-up book titled "Midas Marketing," which I will be producing from cover to cover and drawing 12 more cartoons.

I also produced Dennis Berlien and Jerry Davich's 176-page Connections: Everyone Happens for a Reason from cover to cover. It is due to be published in December.

From 1995 to 1998, I published the monthly alternative magazine Tangents from my living room. The purpose of the publication was to promote the work of local writers, artists and musicians. I was co-publisher and the sole graphic designer. I was responsible for soliciting artwork and stories, writing, photography, ad sales and distribution.

Ad Design

I have plenty of experience designing print ads for the Charlotte Business Journal and Tangents. I have also been producing print ads for Taylor Richards & Conger for 16 years.

Web Design

This is a field in which I don't claim to be an expert, but I do have some experience designing Web sites for myself, my family, my wife and a local cartoonist group. If you like what I've done, I can do the same for you.
