March 2008
The March meeting wasn't quiet the blowout that February was, but a total of five attendees isn't bad.
Meeting at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find were: "Damp" Dave McDonald, Tom "It Rains" Haines, Andy "Smallmouth Bass" Smith, Brian "Lightening" Leonard and Greg "Gray Sky" Russell.
Smith suggested the group head next door to Crisp for lunch because it was "crappy and close by." Of course, by "crappy" he was referring to the weather, which was -- to say the least -- moist.
Leonard handed out yet another of his mini-comics. This one was titled "Strange Stuff," which is pictured to the right.
Smith brought copies of his pencil work for Dynamite comics' "Project Superpowers" edition for Free Comic Day, which will be May 3.
Haines talked about a script for a television commercial that he submitted to the "Obama In 30 Seconds" Web site. To read it, click here. He has also just finished teaching another comedy class.
Russell is in the middle of producing a motivational book titled "Connections."
And lasty but not leasty, McDonald is busy promoting his recently released "Hamster Sam" book. Kids are already asking when there will be a second issue.
Below is a photo of Brian Leonard, Dave McDonald, Greg Russell, Tom Haines and Andy Smith snapped by Heroes store manager Shawn Reynolds.
