It was a small group but a stalwart group who met on a chilly Monday for the monthly cartoonists' lunch. "Big" Al Bigley and Dave "I'm Gonna Buy a Mac" McDonald and Greg "Goofball" Russell trekked down 7th Street to Hawthorne Pizza for some ... uh, pizza.
Al and Dave chatted about their recently-completed "Blaze" comic. Dave discussed the fire department poster he is going to design on a borrowed Macintosh. Al shared copies of his recent work. He has been busy working for Food Lion and the Humane Society, and he's illustrating a romance comic. Greg is wrapping up designing sales training/motivational books for Jeffrey Gitomer and Honorée Corpron.
After lunch, the group returned to Heroes where Cynthia took the obligatory group photo. She was holding down the fort since Shelton and his crew had just returned from the New York Comic-Con that morning. We expect some tall tales from Shelton at the next meeting.
The next meeting will be 11:30, Monday, March 27 at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find.
